SCA Glassworking flame station

I have decided to make a glass station that I can take camping that might be as theyvused in 1500's based on my research

For the bellows I will more then likely try and figure out a side by side or over under set up. If I do side by side I will use a piston based on the ones use for mining and smelting from Georgius Agricola De Re Metallica.

Just a sampling of some Largess

Just a small sampling of some of the larges I made and gave to my Baron and Baroness I forgot to take of the finished rings these are Perls on silver coated wire. and Hematite diamonds with metal Celtic knot work beads with crystal studded head pins.

Birthday gift & Christmas gift Lady bugs

 

At my mothers request I bought some lady bug beads to make a gift for her friend Bernie.

I didn't have the energy right now to do the lamp working my self so I picked up a combination of lamp worked lady bug beads and Peruvian hand panted lady bug beads. I had all the other parts on hand already.

 

I used a large lobster claw clasp that is very secure because she has lost bracelets before. I also used two crimp beads per side to further make sure of the bracelet security. 

 

On this one I used fresh water pearls 

 

I personally prefer very simple earrings as such I made her one set that was just that.

Coptic books and silver lamped worked rings

Well a last week a BAD storm came though and with wind sheers up to 100 miles per hour and lightning strikes we were with out power for 2 days and 2 nights. I used this time to catch up on some things I wanted to get done. I pulled out the blow torch and put glass beads on the ends of some silver coated wire then turned them into rings, and assembled some Coptic leather books using 100% cotton resume paper. Then I got a little fancy and make the smaller one with the bead closure (made by my Friend Dee Vargas who is a amazing bead artist.) and I used seed beads on the side binding just because. This has lead me to start a project to make 50 of these to be used as site tokens for your Barony's event this Sept "For Hands" I think I will use Blue thread and skip the seed beads though.
the books that are here and the rings were sent with Her Excellency Caroline de Mercier to Lillies War for her to distribute as she wishes. I believe her intent was for them to go to the musicians that perform at the Dance she hostess there.

Blue Monks Stone, Also know as; gold stone

 

I was able to locate some odd shaped beads of Blue Monks stone. I thought they were cool in there strange shapes. I assembled them into some semblance of a pendant and strung them with some cristal beads that had a peacock mirror treatment on them. My Daughter thought that with it being so dark that the seed beads should be very bright and colorful and I think it was perfect.

Apple Tree of Life

 Here you get to see a rough draft and a finished project. I had never made a tree of life pendant before and so I tried it and it didn't come out nice so I cut it all apart and tried again with a different way of starting You can see the original that inspired this,

match box swap

 I downloaded a template and printed it out on card stock then drew and colored on the box.
I stuffed it with stuff, crafted is a polymer clay piece a wire ring and the 3 twilight guitar pick made out of a gift card & resin pendent filled with beads

Medieval Broach

 I made this medieval broach in a class taught at one of our A&S meetings Because of the thickness of the wire it has to go though a coarsely woven piece it is fine on a knitted shall.

Medieval Ring

I made this medieval ring with just brass wire and the tools you see here. I lamp worked a glass bead on to one end of the wire first then rapped the wire around itself till it was as full as I wanted it. It is a thumb ring or a men's ring.  

Scabble Tile pendant

I made this for a swap. It is a water color on Water color paper, Mounted on a Scrabble tile then wrapped with Brass wire. The wire wrapping was the hardest that and preventing the writing from running. I decoupaged the whole thing to water prof it.

I had help with this one. I took a key from Home Depo and wrapped Lamp worked beads I make on brass colored wire then Amber made the necklace by macrame and used another lamp worked bead as the clasp. It is also cool looking and I like it enough to wear. oh and the necklace is a paper that is suppose to be water proof.

Steam Punk pewter casting

I was inspired by Genus Girl web comic to do this steam punk metal casting. The coin looking piece was made when I was warming the mold but I liked it so much I am keeping it and drilling out the hole for a bale.

Odd Holiday for June Swap

For a swap where you pick your favorite odd holidays I made this bracelet for sewing machine appreciation day. I used Leather for the closer because my partner was alergic to cerain meadals and I thought this was safe east but it turned out that she LOVED IT because it was so arty.
I also made a handy bag to keep things in with an eagle on it for Eagle day. 

Things I made ar Gulf Wars-2

This is a Fibula I added a Lamp worked Strawberry Bead to it I made both in different classes at Gulf Wars. I tried to take many photos to get a good one of the Bead and this is the best one. The bends in the pin are most likely not period but I don't really care because I like it. I wish I had the time and money to take up Lamp working too. But alas there are only so many hours in the day.

The medallion is the site token. There was a three $ class that aloud use to use the teachers bead stash cording and tools. Me and two of my friends took it because we were board but we each walked away with really nice necklaces. Very different one I might see if they will let me photograph theirs to show you. 

A Fair Swap

Here are two of the Items I made for a swap that is centered around Ren Faires and such.
The pin is called a Fibula and I used store bought beads that I had in my bead box and a charm I have ad laying around for so long I can't remember(12 or more years) . It reminded me of the Cheshire Cat and my Partner likes Alice in Wonderland so I thought she might like it. The pouch is made of red Leather suede and the Dragon on it is a rubber medallion I got on clearance after Halloween one year for $.50 The leather wasn't that expensive either and yes I had it on hand too. I am trying to use up lots of the stuff I have here so I have more room to organism things. I am also making her a shirt and that will be the swap. Hope she like it. I do have one more of the dragon medallions if I want to make another one.
