Another Farmville Craft "Disco Tree"

                                    This is a Hoopla I made for a Farmville swap I ran. I used a necklace  that I cut up for the disco balls. and as you can see the tree is ready to harvest.

Needle books

I am working of needle books this week here are two I have made the Blue one has purple for the inside needle page, and the red one has Black. I am making pins to got with them.

Stars and Constellations

Stars and Constellations, I am working on this piece and I just don't know what do make it into. The Fabric is a stretch denim. I love this material, I would love pants made out of it and it is glittery.  I put sequins with a bead in the center for the main stars in the constellation, and just made star with embroidery thread for the two other stars not quite in it. This is the Seven sisters constellation there are 8 stars in it because Sterope is made up of two stars. the other two stars are the Parents of the Seven sisters. It feels just a little folksy to me. I am torn as to whether I should make a bag out of it or cut the fabric and turn it over and finish it off in the hoop as a wall hanging.

Spinning thread on home made drop spindles

These are two of the drop spindles I have made for spinning thread and Floss. I used a bead for one, the other is a the pewter one I cast as site tokens I used chop sticks for the shafts of both. and I just carved the sticks to fir nicely on the one with the pewter whorl I carved a notch at the top of the shaft. The beaded one is a top whorl the pewter one is a bottom whorl. top whorls were used over most of the world, the top whorl was African and middle eastern as well as Asian. most people spinning thread use a supported spin cup, I do not. I think with long wool that I don't have any problems with my thread breaking.

Way back when I showed you the pewter drop spindles I made as site tokens well here is some embroidery floss I made on one of them. it is a two ply.

Gnome Project bag.

 For a swap I am doing for needle cases I went a little further. She had a Elizabethan Project bag on her wist so I took that concept and made it a little cutesy. I used duck cloth for the bag, and felt for the needle holder. I am debating adding lamp worked pins just because I can. If I do they will probably have mushroom tops.

Felt Skull Ornements

These Skulls are ornaments for a swap. I made these for a wist swap, on crafters.
We each make 5 points worth of things from each others wist list or things inspired by their wist list.  this is a 2 to 3 point project. Only the eyes are machined. They are hand embroidered and hand edged with a blanket stitch. Here is the inspiration, you have to scroll down to the photo of them

Flag 3

This is the Third but not final flag I made. This one I embroidered the hair of the Mermaid. As a result of this (embroidering through 6 layers of fabric) I have DNA on it lucky for me I managed to only ever bleed on the red.
The style of all three flags are in the medieval guidon which is a field battle flag. It is my interpenetration of it.
I think in period that the Kingdom might have been the same size as the other fields. Also I use the Midlands Dragon almost as a supporter. I really like this look I think it brings a unity to it since the branch of the Army is the Midlands. I would love to see each group in the Midlands make something like this. and when not on the field have them handing around the perimeter of the Midlands Encampment at the Wars.

Christmas Presents

Well I can't take credit for this one. My husband made this for me as a Christmas gift. I have wanted one since I saw this saying on Chrafters.org. It is cross stitched and he used metal floss for the word glitter. It is so cool it looks like a mutly colored glitter. and he even matted and framed it. while he was setting up the Wii after we opened all the gifts I was putting the nail in the wall to hang this . it is on my wall of quotes right at a level I can see it when I craft in that corner.

My keep me busy bag

This is my keep me busy bag. You see I don't sit still well. I don't like to wait in line I hate waiting for Amber to get out of school I hate waiting in waiting rooms. well you get the point I don't like to wait. But, alas I like everyone else am forced to wait. So I keep myself busy with the stuff in this bag. I use to carry a book but I don't like to put them done once I start reading, and magazines take up too much room to carry around in my small purse. I don't see why kids should be the only ones with things to do. Parents are forever carrying things for them to do.
So the stuff in this bag has purpose too. Some of the things I am making are gifts. You can see That there is a kumihimo braiding wheel with more floss in a baggy, 3 small drop spindles with wool to spin, An embroidery project I am working on needles, scissors, my boy scout whittling knife.a spool of ribbon, a ball of cotton and my favorite bamboo crocheting hook. as I use something up I replace it so that I always have a choice of what I want to do. And no matter where I am coming or going to there is not bored me playing bubble breaker on my phone.
