A Very Tudor Christmas at the Fort

 

The mantel was lined with the Ivy, Juniper, Blue Spruce and Holly then Pomegranates and Cloved Oranges laid about with candles in Glasses. a small Greenery sag was hung above the mirror that is in front of the candles on the wall. Mulled Wassail Cider was kept near the fire for every one to drink.

 I made the swag that hangs from the beam of the ceiling  with all the same greenery by using large, long. thick pieces of Ivy I was able to use less wire to assemble the swag.

 

I ran a wire across the door with the Ivy on it to hag the kissing ball from it.  I didn't have a willow in my yard so I used Wisteria vine for the base frame of the ball.

 

All the shelves I adorned with the greens of the season.

 

An Ivy and Juniper wreath hung on the door with some small swags on either side of the door as well. It shaped itself as a heart, I didn't do that.

 

 

A Kissing ball was hung but only not very used this time It was made of Ivy and Wisteria vine, with some brass bells in side of it.

 

The Wreath on the wall is made up of Holly, Ivy, Juniper, and Blue Spruce.

This last photo we have electric lights hooked up so we can see our cards as we play board games and games.

Another Farmville Craft "Disco Tree"

                                    This is a Hoopla I made for a Farmville swap I ran. I used a necklace  that I cut up for the disco balls. and as you can see the tree is ready to harvest.

Plastic easter eggs made into roses

small gnomey

 I am participating in a small gnome swap I picked a Item off my partners wist list and then recreated it in a medium I liked better. I used a plastic Easter egg (from the collection down stairs waiting for the Easter bunny) and covered it with air dry clay then painted it up like the stuffy on her wist.

I also made an art card. which i then used as the front a a card to go with the package. the swap was a three point swap the time I took making and painting the gnome is a large but I like it and I really think he is cute. oh also I out plastic beads in the egg so my DD says it is a gnome maraca.
I used Citadel paints. They are the paints for Warhammer miniatures. They cover better then any paint I have ever used and they dry very smooth

Stars and Constellations

Stars and Constellations, I am working on this piece and I just don't know what do make it into. The Fabric is a stretch denim. I love this material, I would love pants made out of it and it is glittery.  I put sequins with a bead in the center for the main stars in the constellation, and just made star with embroidery thread for the two other stars not quite in it. This is the Seven sisters constellation there are 8 stars in it because Sterope is made up of two stars. the other two stars are the Parents of the Seven sisters. It feels just a little folksy to me. I am torn as to whether I should make a bag out of it or cut the fabric and turn it over and finish it off in the hoop as a wall hanging.

Decorating an unused doorway

 During the winter my mother doesn't use the back door, which goes out to the screen porch. so she uses a draft guard that is cute and adds some small trees and makes a little scene out of it. Below is a photo of the screened in porch from inside during the blizzard of Dec 2010

Pringles Can Treasure chest

I made this Pringles Can Treasure chest for a "once you pop swap" I wanted to make something that no one had ever done before. Now some people may say that a treasure chest for a winter or Christmas themed "once you pop" Swap doesn't make sense but they would be wrong. I didn't have time to go get the Murr and Frankincense, But I did get chocolate gold coins.
I covered the whole thing with leather and the inside with felt. I hope she liked it.

Game Board Coasters

Here is the other Scrabble craft item that my partner wisted. I did have to go out and buy more clear contact paper because it seems I was out. I covered the whole board with it then on the back of the board divided it up into 3 1/2 in squares then cut them out. I used Black duct tape to edge them. I like them and I think I might make my mom a set for Christmas. I hope she doesn't read this.
so you relies the game was not a complete set. I didn't destroy a usable game.

Stained Glass

I have been bad about up dating. So I will try and be better I will wright a bunch of entreaty and save them so that I can just write them while in the mood and post them with some regularity.
These I made a medal workers and Glass symposium. I never really left the Glass area the whole weekend. except to eat and sleep.

This is a wet bag. Not that it is wet mind you.
It is for wet dish towels and dish rags It is lined with more of that Air mattress that you have seen me use here before.  I make dish clothes and so when they need washing I don't have them sitting some wear getting moldy. then when I go down stairs to wash I just grab them all at once. We pull the wash clothes from the bath room and put them in here too.

Little things

there is a part of some of us that has the urge to collect small things. Here you can see some of the small things I collected the silver Lego's from the 25 year anniversary addition of Lego boxes. the miniatures out of my favorite tea. I really want to find that tea again.  and just a bunch of other strange things that would only have meaning to me.

Peanut Butter Jelly time

I made some Pillows for a swap partner. I already had the stuffing and Muslin. They are one sided but I think they are cute. I almost put faces on them

Fairy or Gnome house

I made this Garden house for a swap I did that was about Gardening. I received some awesome garden plant markers in that swap. I made this with a large wooden salad bowl I got at a thrift store a long time ago when I only wanted the small bowls but it came as a set. The stem is made up af saplings that I cleared last year but saved because they were straight and I thought I could make a garden fence out of them. The little door was a scrap from my brother fixing my porch swing.

CD case and Pick case for Music Girl

every week when we are running out the door to guitar lessons my DD can't find herself a pick or the CD she needs for lessons. I made her a this case for the CD it has a Velcro strap that firs around her strap to the guitar carrier case (not shown here) And I made her a Guitar pick case too it can go on a strap by itself, I also mad a strap on the front of the CD holder so it can be attached there too. She hangs her guitars when they are home. she loves being able to pull them down and play especially if her friends are over. Close at hand means, in hand more.
