This is what happens when my daughter asks me to make her a frozen pizza.
She was not amused. which made me even more amused. she said "Really?" Really, mom?"
That thing it is on is a bread stone it rocks for frozen pizza. I then cut up the face and she and my DH ate the head. :)
All sort of crafts and SCA projects, and sometimes dinner. it is a true goulash of things to do and eat.

small gnomey
I am participating in a small gnome swap I picked a Item off my partners wist list and then recreated it in a medium I liked better. I used a plastic Easter egg (from the collection down stairs waiting for the Easter bunny) and covered it with air dry clay then painted it up like the stuffy on her wist.

I also made an art card. which i then used as the front a a card to go with the package. the swap was a three point swap the time I took making and painting the gnome is a large but I like it and I really think he is cute. oh also I out plastic beads in the egg so my DD says it is a gnome maraca.
I used Citadel paints. They are the paints for Warhammer miniatures. They cover better then any paint I have ever used and they dry very smooth

Stars and Constellations
Stars and Constellations, I am working on this piece and I just don't know what do make it into. The Fabric is a stretch denim. I love this material, I would love pants made out of it and it is glittery. I put sequins with a bead in the center for the main stars in the constellation, and just made star with embroidery thread for the two other stars not quite in it. This is the Seven sisters constellation there are 8 stars in it because Sterope is made up of two stars. the other two stars are the Parents of the Seven sisters. It feels just a little folksy to me. I am torn as to whether I should make a bag out of it or cut the fabric and turn it over and finish it off in the hoop as a wall hanging.

The Rapunzel Scarf swap
The Rapunzel swap is a swap that you send 3 people 10 different pieces of yarn each 10 feet long. You yourself receive 30 pieces 10 from 3 different people. then you braid them all together to make a scarf. . Think that I would have made the pieces 20 feet long instead because the scarf is not thick enough for my liking. so I doubled over the yarn I got and made a scarf half as long as intended. Oh you can send Ribbon or fabric instead of yarn. I did a mix when sending.

off Topic- Food shopping
Randomness here. It is the Beginning of the month and it is time to go grocery shopping, as such I feel like rambling about it. There have been changes in my life non stop for the last 3 years. My husbands lost his job this lead to a major move and a change in status as he went back to school. Then to top it all off I have a two children at home one is 14 and one is 20. The 20 year old came home when he turned 18 between 14 and 18 he lived with his mom. The14 year old has eating issues and on top of it is fussy about what she likes and how she likes it. she get this mostly from her father. At the moment I am doing temp work. Temp work means I can decline work because I have Dr appointments for my DD or a different appointment with the DS. it means we live mostly on my Husbands GI Bill and student loans. I made about $6000 working last year. now we also have a support network of both our parents that have made this bearable. but all this leads me to Food shopping.
I have about 526ish dollars a month to food shop for all of us. I have finally giving in in some areas because it saves my hair from turning gray any faster. My DD should not eat some foods because they cause her migraines. My son has no concept of portions, or price of food, he also lacks social skills in a lot of departments. I go out of my way to buy foods that the Daughter can eat and come in to find the son has eaten the whole thing in one sitting. I found a solution. I buy him his own food. it is not food I always think is healthy. but it fits how he will eat and keeps him away from his sisters food. any TV dinners on sale for $1 he can get 20 to 30 of a month. Sausage links he can microwave. Chimmie Chongas, and Microwave Burritos. now I also buy Cereal, a super size box of Waffles, Meat patties, Hot dogs and the like (buns and breads) I write the DD name on things that are just for her. and no one really wants the food I eat because i am on a low fat diet. the rule is he can have a sunny D knock off Koolaid add your own sugar or a generic koolaid with the sugar in, and one bottle of generic soda a month. The Daughter gets real juice, real Koolaid with the sugar in it, a Cereal she is not allergic too. I do cater to her needs but she is 14 and can't work. So far the 20 year old hasn't managed to find a job. He is doing temp work through the same company as me but he has less skills and doesn't drive. any how this is working. I still cook dinner at least every other night. and the DS will eat anything any one is cooking. On nights that I am eating extra low fat the rest of the family will eat something like perigees with fried onions. And most important the after school snack foods that are expensive for my DD are now safe.
I also think he feels less like his sister is getting something that he isn't. He also cooks dinner on Tue nights. this Tue it will be Chicken Gnocchi soup my DD favorite. Next time I will tell you about Teaching him to shop we are making him a make believe budget per month and breaking it down to how much he has per meal then going shopping and having him figure out what he can buy that he will eat for a whole month. Wish me luck.

Snowman Hat
I decided to make snow man kits with a top hat and scarf button eyes and a string of wooden beads for a mouth. this is the hat pattern. it did involve Pi to get the circumstance so I could figure out how long to make the rectangle . It looks like two eyes and one uni brow looking at you in this photo. Then here is our test snow person trying on the hat and scarf. I gave her two scarves in case she didn't want to give one up to a snowman.
Spinning thread on home made drop spindles
These are two of the drop spindles I have made for spinning thread and Floss. I used a bead for one, the other is a the pewter one I cast as site tokens I used chop sticks for the shafts of both. and I just carved the sticks to fir nicely on the one with the pewter whorl I carved a notch at the top of the shaft. The beaded one is a top whorl the pewter one is a bottom whorl. top whorls were used over most of the world, the top whorl was African and middle eastern as well as Asian. most people spinning thread use a supported spin cup, I do not. I think with long wool that I don't have any problems with my thread breaking.
